School Testing Gap

Next week, the Illinois State Board of Education makes public the results from the 2007 School Report Card showing student performance on standardized tests in public schools throughout the state.
The Associated Press has analyzed the data and found there's a large gap in the percentage of elementary school students meeting or exceeding standards on these tests and the percentage of high schoolers meeting or exceeding standards. The gap is found in all 102 counties, and it's growing.
The databases below provide more extensive details about how many students in each county are hitting the mark on tests.

All material on the wire and Web site is embargoed by the State Board of Education and must not be used before 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31. This package is being provided early so members can prepare their own material to coincide with the data's release.
The entire Report Card data set is available through the ISBE Web site: ftp://ftp.isbe.net/schoolreportcard/2007%20School%20Report%20Card/
